Exp 2 Part 3

> WE MAKE ANOTHER EXPERIMENT: The Tsunami

We reviewed why we begun this project. We heard of a tsunami in the news and we set out to create a model of it on a small scale in our classroom. We filled half of a container with sand and the other half with water. Upon the sand we placed houses, people, etc. Underneath the water there is a transparent laminate made of acetate which sticks out on one of its edges. When we pull with force on this laminate all the water comes out devastates the beach, the sand, throws houses, throws people, etc.
We make the experiment
We make dialogue about the experiment
We play music and we dramatize: we are giant waves, volcanos, earthquakes, etc.
We draw and we write on what we have done

> WE FORM INTO PAIRS AND READ
Each pair takes a book related to the project and watches it, reads it, and comments upon it, etc.
Later they decide together that they are going to work on a sheet
They make its drawing and they write what they have done, spoken, seen, etc.

> WE MAKE a SEISMOGRAPH

We see in a book a seismograph. Leo loose phrases, words to explain what is, so that it serves and as it works. The children and children raise if we can do one and we put hands to the work:
We thought about like we can do it and that material we will need
We make a seismograph and we put it into operation: we held to a bottle a wood del that hung with a thread a labeller. We placed underneath continuous paper and everything on a table that subjects on a stool. Two children are running the paper manually. When we give to a smooth blow the labeller writes smooth lines in zigzag, when the blow is strong the lines are but strong and when we do not give to blow the line is straight.
We numbered from the 0 to the 9 according to the intensity of our seismograph. We played with the terms: greater than, minor than, the zero,…
For all this we have a consensus, deciding, to choose, etc.
